HIS middle and high school education is based on 3C’s in Christ and seeks to enable students to discover their gifts and talents, while equipping them to pursue their future calling. The middle and high school curriculum consists of subject courses and co-curricular activities. The regular track consists of required courses that students need to take in each grade. The elective track consists of courses that students can choose depending on their interests and chosen career path. Additionally, there are Korean and international courses. Korean courses are taught in Korean, while international courses are taught in English. International courses are generally chosen by students preparing for university overseas.

AP (Advanced Placement) Courses are college-level subjects. At HIS, students take online AP courses provided by NorthStar Academy under the supervision of an HIS teacher. Please note that the AP subjects available may vary from year to year and additional fees are generated when taking AP classes.
HUP (Handong University-level Program) courses are advanced-level subjects integrated with a Christian worldview taught by Handong Global University professors. Currently, 12th graders can take Advanced Design and Advanced Physics. There is a possibility that additional subjects will be added in the future, or these subjects to be acknowledged as college credits as UP (University-level Programs).
