We believe in one holy, living and personal God, who is perfect in truth and love, omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent and eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is the creator of all things and is the sovereign Lord of the world and of history. In love, He revealed Himself in creation, in the Scriptures and supremely in Jesus Christ.
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He is both fully God and fully man. We believe in His sinless life, miracles and teachings. He died in our place on the cross to redeem us from sin and death. He rose from the dead and now reigns as the resurrected Lord and King. He will come again to establish His kingdom of righteousness, love and peace.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is a divine Person within the Trinity. He was sent to glorify Christ; to regenerate, indwell, guide, teach, empower, and sanctify believers; and to convince the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment.
We believe that the Bible, consisting of 66 books of the Old and the New Testaments, is the inspired word of God, without error in all that it affirms, and the only infallible rule of faith and practice.
We believe in the Genesis account in which God created the universe by His word. All creation was declared to be good, revealing the Creator’s power and divine glory. We believe that God is still sustaining the universe by the power of His word.
We believe that humanity is created in God’s image for God’s glory, distinct from all other living creatures and designed for eternal life. Humans were created to love God, to love their neighbors, and to rule over and care for creation as God’s stewards.
The Fall and Sin
We believe that the whole human race fell in the fall of the first Adam. In addition, all of us have participated in willful rebellion and sin against God. Humanity has incurred physical, spiritual and eternal death, which is separation from God. All human beings are born with a sinful nature and are powerless to save themselves. The fall of humanity corrupts every part of human nature, of the created order and of human culture at large.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins as our substitutionary sacrifice and that He was raised to life from the dead. We believe that Jesus is the only way to salvation. Those who repent, forsake sin and trust in Jesus Christ are new creations, born again of the Holy Spirit, having received the gift of eternal life and deliverance from condemnation. We are saved from the eternal penalty and the power of sin and are called to a life of holiness through the infilling of the Holy Spirit. We look forward to our glorification on the day of Christ’s return.
We believe in the universal Church, which is the community of all true believers for all time, expressed in local communities around the world. The Church is the body of Christ – the community of those who believe in the Lord Jesus. Christ, who established the Church is the Head of the Church. Those who are a part of the Church celebrate their unity by and mature through worship, declaration of the Word, service to others, baptism, the Lord’s Supper, education and fellowship.
World Missions and the Kingdom of God
We believe that we are called to expand God’s kingdom by proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth by word and deed; by caring for all of God’s creation; and by actively seeking the good of everyone as we engage cultures, redeeming them with the love and the wisdom of God.
Academics and Education
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord of all areas of academia and that the Word of God is the foundation underlying all disciplines. We believe that the goal of Christian education, including all the major studies, is the formation of the entire person – spiritual, moral, intellectual, emotional, physical and social- who will serve God and others in every area of his/her life.
The Second Coming of Christ and Eternal Life
We believe that Jesus Christ Himself will return visibly, publicly, and historically, in power and in glory, to establish His kingdom, bringing about final victory over sin, death and Satan. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal damnation of the unrighteous and the eternal joy of the righteous.
