Faith·Hope·Love
Handong International School has three dorms: Faith Hall, Hope Hall, and Love Hall. Male and female students live on separate floors or in different buildings. On each floor, a dorm parent lives with about 20 students. Each room is shared with four students and consists of two bunk beds, four desks, and four closets.
Dorm Parents
The dormitories offer students a home away from home. Dorm parents live with the students and provide spiritual guidance, supervise after-school study times, offer counseling, as well as leading daily devotion and Bible reading times.
Christian Community
We seek for dormitories to be a unified body within Christ, and students are trained to practice love and keep order within the community. Worship, prayer, and devotions are part of daily life, and students are instructed to follow dormitory regulations, practice cleanliness, and be courteous to one another. Ultimately, the purpose of the HIS dormitories is to enable students to grow into healthy and mature children of God.

Off-Campus Trips
Students may leave the dorm on Saturdays and holidays with a parent’s written permission. In principle, students may not leave campus on weekdays. Students are only allowed to leave campus when dorm parents have written permission, as well as verbal confirmation from the parents. For day-visits, students must return to campus by 7 PM. On overnight visits, students must return by 7 PM the day before school resumes.
